About Me

My name is Ollie Robertson and I am a lighting designer, stage manager, and director from Richmond, VA. I am currently pursuing my Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Alabama, and am set to graduate in May 2028.

My Passion

I am a recent graduate of Christopher Newport University, where I studied Theatre, concentrating in Directing & Dramatic Literature, as well as Design & Technical Theater. Beginning Fall 2025, I will be attending the University of Alabama, pursuing my MFA in Theatrical Lighting Design.

Having the privilege to study theater full time, as well as be a part of shows in the program and community has continued to foster my love for live performance. I enjoy working collaboratively and abstractly to create innovative and thought provoking shows for audiences to enjoy.

My love for theater began when I joined my middle school theatre club in hopes of making friends. Little did I know that at eleven years old I would end up finding my lifelong passion.

My dream is to become a theatre educator and share my knowledge and skill to others. I want to teach others the value of perseverance and hard work through this incredible art form, and encourage them to be their true selves no matter where they are.
